Binny's Bourbon County Black Friday Release Blog November 26, 2021 FBarber Poo-Bah (5,414) Mar 5, 2016 Illinois Moderator Society Trader As part of prop day? no, you will likely not be able to buy any other variants. You might be able to get some past year's variants at the Fulton location if you want to order them separately and pay a premium. This 100% depends on what variants you want. Some will in all likelihood be sitting around on Saturday, other will not. It also depends on where you end up going. A place like Binnys may have some of the common variants around but most will have gone towards their lottery. Local smaller places may be your better choice as they are more likely to still have stuff out.confirmation you entered? - no. Kazmo Initiate (6) Oct 19, 2021 actually replying again, a friend said he thinks you can get other variants on prop day, but unsure given covid. Anyone know if you can buy other variants as well on prop day, or have to wait until following BF? Ckoz Aspirant (285) Feb 15, 2014 Michigan Trader Sounds like pick up windows will be available at 4pm CST. 30 minute increments. Guessing it doesn't really matter (it hasn't in years passed). If you don't pick one they will assign one. Ckoz Aspirant (285) Feb 15, 2014 Michigan Trader Not 2021 variants. You can probably grab some prior years to go. CB_Michigan Devotee (497) Sep 4, 2014 Illinois Society Trader Not at Prop Days itself. As @Ckoz said, the Fulton taproom might have older variants to go, but last year, I didn't even roll down my window for pickup. They scanned the QR code, I drove around some cones, someone popped the trunk and put the Prop box inside. You have to wait until BF.... FBarber Poo-Bah (5,414) Mar 5, 2016 Illinois Moderator Society Trader Even pre-covid you could not buy variants before black Friday. FYI, Jewel Osco lottery site going live 11/14. If I remember correctly, you paid an additional fee when they rang you up at Prop Day 2018 for the opportunity to select something from the Prop mystery wall, but that's the only thing remotely close to being able to buy additional variants....... Jinx989 Defender (609) Apr 22, 2015 Illinois Society Trader Winning email from GI says at 4pm cst today you can pick your pickup day and time. Pickups will be in 30min increments between 8am and 6pm both days. You will do it on the Oznr app. GuyFawkes Poo-Bah (5,443) Apr 7, 2011 Illinois Society Trader Sounds like they are going to be dicks about it if something comes up and you can't make it during your slot. Rev > Goose in just about every aspect of barrel aged beers these days. Will trade Rev BA beers for 21 GI Prop. I'll cut you a saweet deal. ***RE-READING MY MESSAGE IT SAYS LOTTERY CLOSES ON 11/14, SORRY ALL*** IT SAYS IT OPENS IN ABOUT A WEEK AND A HALF FROM TODAY. Definitely Black Friday for the new variants, sorry man! Aren't you the guy coming from SD (assuming South Dakota as opposed to San Diego)? I believe you were warned on here that Prop Day was wknd prior to Black Friday, but that kinda sucks if your objective for coming to Chicago was to load up on BCS bottles... At least there will be a Revolution Deep Wood release party same wknd as Prop Day. It might not have the mainstream/national hype of BCS, but many ba's (most?) consider Deep Wood a step above these days. It's next level as the kids say lol, I would recommend getting in on that. https://revbrew.com/a-warming-winter-in-the-deep-wood For November releases, public pre-order goes live Tues Nov 16th. Also, the October releases look to currently still be available... They ask you to pick up within 10 days, but if you want to secure Oct releases now, you might inquire/email them your situation prior to purchasing, they're super flexible. (you might as well sign up for Rev Rewards before making purchase as well). Looks like a lot of winners, and only a few losers. I am sadly still in the loser camp. Never won a Prop day yet. There's always next year. Ckoz Aspirant (285) Feb 15, 2014 Michigan Trader I don't think so. When I was there in 2019 I had a timed pickup. Wasn't close to making it and just went at a later slot. Totally fine. pointyskull Initiate (158) Mar 17, 2010 Illinois Trader Pick-up time reserved. Go get 'em... Jplachy Devotee (454) Feb 12, 2012 Illinois Trader I can't believe this industry has adopted this dumb ass app. ChiPez66 Initiate (151) May 21, 2018 Illinois Trader As opposed to waiting in line, if they happen to release something when you're not working, and hoping the bottles don't kick before you get to the front, and lose 2-3 hours(or more) of time for absolutely nothing? Personally, I think the app is the best way to do limited releases. Gives everyone an equal opportunity to get these beers, unless of course you choose not to use a smart phone in the 2020s. The only thing to really be upset about is the no shares in line like it used to be... but most devolved into a shit show with garbage everywhere, anyways. So that's probably for the best. Jplachy Devotee (454) Feb 12, 2012 Illinois Trader The app itself is garbage. What its trying to accomplish is better. ChiPez66 Initiate (151) May 21, 2018 Illinois Trader Fair enough, but I've never had a single issue with the app, if I'm being honest. All the push notifications have always worked, for both new items going up, or wins. I do understand some have issues with it, though. Jplachy Devotee (454) Feb 12, 2012 Illinois Trader Notifications have never worked for me, and then the best way to do reservations was an endless scroll of 30 minute increments? And then there are the UI problems that break the design language of iOS which is just lazy. Lorddevn Initiate (124) Mar 10, 2019 Wisconsin Trader So I won and didn't realize this was same weekend as phase 3. I'm an idiot. I will pick up but missed out at phase 3 because I didn't want to travel too much to Chicago. flat_lander Champion (859) May 11, 2016 Illinois Society Trader I lost. Just in case it makes anyone feel better. Out of the 9 friends I know that entered, 4 appear to have won. GuyFawkes Poo-Bah (5,443) Apr 7, 2011 Illinois Society Trader You have 9 friends?! Jealous. I won the lottery but cant choose a time oznr..howd you pick? flat_lander Champion (859) May 11, 2016 Illinois Society Trader Yep. That was non-BA friends too. Too bad between kids and work I never get to hang out with them though. I just gather high ABV, large format beers to drink with them, then end up opening them solo past their prime because I get tired of waiting. At least some genius on here told me about the Hermetus. The Sat/Sun time slots will be in thereThey said within 48 hrs otherwise they assign you one you have to upgrade from your flip phone in order to get the notifications to come through 9 friends sounds like a lot of work. Hard pass. Jplachy Devotee (454) Feb 12, 2012 Illinois Trader You read everything I wrote there and this is what you came up with? What's the deal with the new year's variants on tap at Clybourn the weekend following Black Friday? I've been on BF itself several times, and they've been doing timed variant tappings the past several years (roughly since @Vav left Binny's LP, IIRC), but do they keep the festivities going throughout Saturday and Sunday too? Totally off the wall question: Goose Island definitely released BCBS posters since 2013. BUT, was 2013 the first year they did this? When I say posters, I mean a legitimate poster (like what is often given away to the first few people in line, pre-pandemic, at 'flagship stores'), not the 'tack it up on the wall at the liquor store' sales announcement. bread_c Initiate (121) Feb 19, 2015 Illinois Trader Yeah, 2013 was the first year of the posters Binny's Bourbon County Black Friday Release Blog Source: https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/goose-island-bourbon-county-2021-chicagoland.657953/page-13 Share :
